On the wake of Typhoon Yolanda’s onslaught in some areas in Visayas, international artists turned to social media to extend their sentiments and asked people to help the victims of the supertyphoon which made landfall last November 8, Friday.

According to reports, Yolanda is the strongest typhoon in the recent history – stronger than Typhoon Katrina – carrying strong winds and rains that destroyed everything along its path.

Several artists in Hollywood extended their sadness and pledges of help for the victims of the typhoon that left only ruins of the once healthy-standing cities in Leyte and other parts of the Visayan Region.

In their official website, NBA’s Miami HEAT coach Erik Spoelstra offered prayers and condolences.
“On behalf of the Miami HEAT organization, we would like to extend our condolences to the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. We value the many fans that we have over there, and we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”
The news about the devastation reached the Holy Father, Pope Francis, in Vatican. He immediately sent his message of sadness, called for others to pray for the people affected by the super-typhoon.

Recently, the British Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, sent her message of condolences to the families who lost their loved ones during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda.

“I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of life and devastation caused by the typhoon that hit the Philippines at the weekend,” she said in a message sent to Philippine president Benigno Aquino III.

United States President Barack Obama called President Aquino Tuesday to extend his sorrow following the devastation in Leyte. Obama has already sent aids to the Philippines to help in the recovery and relief operations.

I send this song to those people in Leyte in the hope that they will look up to Him for comfort and help that they may overcome this tragedy that has fallen to them.
